As well as helping to cover the admin and running costs of the club, the Registration Fee also includes:

  • Membership to the Samford Rangers Football Club
  • Fees and Registration with Football Queensland & Football Federation of Australia
  • Basic Player Insurance cover
  • End of season trophies & end of season Trophy Day
  • Regular season Referee fees
  • Team Photo for all teams up to and including Under 18

Under 13 to Under 18 (Juniors)
Samford Rangers FC will be entering Under 9 to Under 18 teams into the FQ Academy (FQA) competition for boys in 2023. We also intend, numbers permitting, to enter additional teams of each age group into the Metro youth football leagues. Trials have already been held for FQA and players for these teams have been selected. If your child was not selected for an FQA team we encourage them to play in one of our Metro football teams in 2023.

Training for Junior Metro league teams will commence in February. Regular season games begin on 10th March.

For Under 13 teams, there will be four grading games in late-Feb to ensure that teams are placed into appropriate divisions and there is a "like versus like" standard.

Coaches and Managers
At this stage we intend to host a Coaches and Managers Information Night on Wed 15th February.

Junior Grading Process & Team Placement

Assessment of player ability is based on player performance at grading sessions and advice from club coaches.

Where possible all players should play in their correct age competition, i.e. U12’s play in U12. However, some players may need to play up a grade due to player numbers in an age group.

Final teams will be announced by email in early February.  Any queries regarding junior grading should be directed to James Corner, Club Technical Director at It is important to note that team make up is not completely finalized until teams are announced and confirmed by email, in February.

The overriding intention of grading is to place players into teams with teammates of a similar skill level and to enter each team in a division of the competition that is appropriate to their skill level.

Getting in the right team is far more important than getting in the top team. Samford Rangers Football Club values all of its members regardless of their level of skill and experience.
