2023 Committee info

The Samford Rangers Committee for 2023 consists of 7 roles filled by volunteers who each have committed to spending 5-10 hours of their personal time each week to run the club on behalf of the members. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please email the Secretary at to register your interest.

At the last Annual General Meeting in November 2022, the 2023 Committee was elected:

Graham Young - President

GrahamGraham has been an active member of Samford Rangers FC since moving into the area in 2011; originally as a player and team manager in the Masters competition, and also a coach of Miniroos teams. Since 2018 he has been on the Rangers Committee, firstly as Treasurer, and is currently Club President. He is passionate about community football and developing the club to ensure it is set up for a successful future. When he is not injured(!), he still plays football for the Rangers Old Boys in the Over 45's competition.

Mathew Kilkelly - Secretary

Mathew has been in and around football for most of his life, including being a member of Samford Rangers FC since 2011 and is a lifelong Liverpool supporter. He currently plays for and manages the Rangers Over 45’s Old Boys team, and his son plays in the Under 10’s. 

He joined the Committee in 2021 as the Club Secretary and was the Club Registrar prior to this. His focus is on supporting the Clubs strategic direction ensuring it can continue to sustainably grow and offer an inclusive and fun environment for its members and visitors. When he is not at the club, Mathew enjoys long windy walks on the beach.

Damian Davies - Treasurer

DamianDamian first got involved with Samford Rangers in 2011 when his children started playing, jumping straight in as Team Manager.  He first joined the committee in 2012 and has been Vice President of Miniroos and Juniors, President, Secretary and now Treasurer.  Over that time the club has grown in player numbers, become financially secure, moved from Harold Brown Park to Samford Parklands and risen through the ranks of the Brisbane Football Leagues.  Damian strongly believes in providing football for all ages and abilities, in a family friendly culture.

Stuart Carter - Vice President Football Operations

Stu has been involved at the club since 2014 and quickly took on roles such as Team Manager, Miniroos Coach, Junior Coach and Miniroos Coordinator. Currently, Stu is on his second stint on the committee as Vice President Football Operations and is also the Metro Men’s Coordinator, Referees Coordinator, under 20 Team Manager and the club's Member Protection Officer. He looks after the club’s Merchandise purchases and is always keen for feedback on the polos, hats and availability of the playing strips! In his spare time, Stu is an FQ Referee.

As Vice President Football Operations. Stu manages the club fixtures. This includes scheduling the time and venue of home games, allocating the training schedule, and automating the light schedule, amongst other things. Stu enjoys giving his time as a volunteer to give back to the community.
